JOPLIN, MO – Dakota Brady led the way for the Tigers earning NCCAA All-American honors in route to a second-place team finish on the day in the NCCAA Championships.
With temperatures in the low 30's and winds pushing 25 mph, it made for a strategic afternoon on the rolling course. Brady was able to run his second fastest time of his career today. He clocked a 26:01.2 placing eighth overall.
The Smithson brothers came in close behind Brady.
Myles Smithson finished in a new PR of 26:40.4 placing 14
th overall.
Lukas Smithson who will be at the NAIA National Championships next weekend, finished behind his brother in 15
th with his time of 26:56.7.
Samuel Bennett finished out his season with his season best time of 27:31.1 placing 24
th. Rounding out the top five for the Tigers was rookie
Trevor Hansen. Hansen has filled the five spot well for the Tigers this season and proved it once again. Hansen placed 26
th running a PR of 27:47.2.
Alex Steen and
Ben Graf came in clutch for Campbellsville today. Both Steen and Graf hit major PR's on the day. Steen saw a 46 second PR with a time of 28:04.9 finishing in 31
st. Before the season, Graf had not broken 30 minutes in the 8K. This season he has filled into a key role. He ran a time of 28:16.6 placing 34
th.
Campbellsville finished second in the team standings with 81 team points. Tigers 1-5 spread was 1:46.0 on the day. Grace College won the meet placing six of their top seven in the top ten.
Campbellsville completes the season as a whole team. Lukas Smithson will represent the Tigers in the NAIA Championships next weekend in Tallahassee, Fla.
