Bailey Dillender becomes the first Lady Tiger Softball player to be inducted into the Campbellsville University Hall of Fame.
Dillender, a Lexington, Kentucky native, played under head coach Shannon Wathen from 2009-2012. She was the first Lady Tiger to repeat as Mid-South Conference Player of the Year (2010 and 2011). As a freshman, she helped lead the way for the program’s fourth Mid-South Conference Regular Season Championship. That Lady Tigers team would go on to finish the season with a record of 41-7-1 (20-1-1 in conference play).
Dillender made a huge impact within the program and remains in the Top 10 in multiple statistical categories. In single-season records, Dillender sits first in batting average (.510 in 2009), first in slugging percentage (.959 in 2009), first and tied-for-second in assists (174 in 2010 and 165 in 2011), tied-for-first in games played (65 in 2012), and tied-for-first in home runs (17 in 2009). Furthermore, she sits second in walks (32 in 2010), second in at-bats (202 in 2011), second in on-base percentage (.572 in 2009), tied-for-second twice in sacrifice flies (4 in 2011 and 2012), fourth and sixth in RBI’s (62 in 2009 and 57 in 2011), fifth in total bases (139 in 2009) and tied-for-sixth in hits (74 in 2009).
Dillender’s career records shine throughout the Lady Tigers’ record book. She sits first in RBI’s (215), first in at-bats (719), first in assists (581), first in hits (269), tied-for-first in home runs (48), second in total bases (468), tied-for-third in games played (230), fourth in walks (82), fifth in batting average (.374), fifth in doubles (55), fifth in slugging percentage (.651) and ninth in runs scored (137).
Following her playing days, Dillender would join the coaching staff as an assistant coach. In her two seasons with the Tigers, she helped guide them to an 87-38 record and a share of the Mid-South Conference regular season title in 2013.
Dillender graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2012 and a Master of Business Administration in 2014.
