Greg Fountain, an Owensboro, Kentucky native, is inducted into the Campbellsville University Hall of Fame for his years of success and dedication to the sport of football.

Fountain graduated from Campbellsville University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts, later obtaining his master’s degree in Teaching with emphasis in Learning and Behavior Disorders in 2024.

Fountain holds many records in the Fighting Tiger record book: career rushing yards (4,419), career rushing attempts (711), career rushing touchdowns (46), career rushing yards per game (107.8), career touchdowns scored (47), career all-purpose yards (4,699), career total points scored (284), individual season rushing yards (1,716 – 2008), individual season rushing touchdowns (21 – 2008), individual season rushing yards per game (156.0 – 11 games – 2008), individual season touchdowns scored (21 – 2008), individual season total points scored (126 - 2008), individual game most carries (40 – Sept. 27, 2008, vs. West Virginia Tech), individual game most net yards rushing ( 320 – Nov. 10, 2007, vs. Bethel College), individual game most rushing touchdowns scored (five – Sept. 27, 2008, vs. West Virginia Tech), and individual game most all-purpose yards gained (41 – Sept. 27, 2008, vs. West Virginia Tech). Fountain was also named 2008 First-Team NAIA All-American, 2009 NAIA Senior Classic MVP, and four-time First-Team Mid-South Conference All-Conference.

After completing his collegiate athletic career, Greg went on to play professionally as a running back for the Seinäjoki Crocodiles in the Finland Maple League. After being recruited and signing with the Finish Football Team, Fountain recorded 4,156 rushing yards and 57 rushing touchdowns to add to his professional career stats.

Once his football career came to an end, Fountain worked as a Learning Behavior Disabilities Instructional Assistant at Burns Middle School, a Mild Mental Behavior Instructional Assistant at Apollo High School, and is currently a Positive Approach to Student Success/Emotional Behavior Disorder Teacher at Owensboro Middle School.

Fountain hasn’t stepped away from the game, coaching as an Assistant Football Coach at Apollo High School and an Assistant Football Coach at Owensboro High School, where he is currently serving in his second season.
