Mr. Hall, a 1965 graduate of Campbellsville University, has been extremely generous in his support of the Campbellsville University Tennis Program. As a way to acknowledge and recognize his generosity, the tennis at Campbellsville University have officially been named the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex.

Over the years, Kelly’s financial support has helped enable the Campbellsville University tennis program to excel. The pinnacle of the tennis program’s rise to prominence was achieved when the team won the 2012 National Christian College Athletic Association’s Men’s Tennis Championship.

Following graduation from Campbellsville University, Kelly began a teaching career in Meade County, Kentucky where he taught middle school for two years. He then taught high school business for four years in Jefferson County, Kentucky school system.

While teaching in Jefferson County, he met and fell in love with Judy, a fellow teacher. They married in 1976 and made Louisville their home until moving to Texas in 1999. Their union produced two wonderful sons, Clayton and Jason. Clayton works for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Jason has recently opened his own restaurant in Dallas, Texas.

Sadly, in 2011, after 35 years of marriage, Kelly lost his beloved Judy to pancreatic cancer.

The partnership between Kelly and Judy extended into business, as well, and in 1989 they started a franchise operation called Texas Wings, Inc. with the exclusive rights to Texas for the fledging restaurant chain Hooters.  The business quickly became the largest and most successful franchise for the chain. Kelly spent 20 years building his business and during that time the franchise grew to 43 restaurant locations in Texas.

Kelly is an avid tennis player and began playing competitively in his early 30s, which is unusually late in the game. Over the years, he has continued to play competitively and at numerous times was ranked number 1 in the state and Southern Section. In 2008, Kelly was ranked 3rd nationally in the United States Tennis Association Men’s 65 doubles and in 2013 he was ranked 4th. In 2012 he travelled to South America and Europe and competed in several international tournaments. In his early years, Kelly’s competitive spirit was kept burning by racing AA Gas Dragsters.

When not traveling, Kelly splits his time between his homes in Delray Beach, Florida, and Dallas.
