Hall of Fame
Phillip Corbin came to Russell Creek Academy when he was in the fifth grade and stayed for eight years. Corbin played basketball and football in 1923, 1924, and 1925 at Campbellsville Junior College. In 1925 he was one of the starting players on the Campbellsville Junior College Basketball Team which won the district tournament. The team was beaten by two points in the state tournament by a team from Ashland, Ky.

Corbin graduated from Campbellsville Junior College in 1925 and began farming in Taylor County. He farmed until 1955, when he retired and turned the farm over to his son. Corbin and his wife, Geneva have one son, Richard Corbin, and one daughter, Betty Jo Corbin Silas. They have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
