Dr. Bobby Brooks has served the Campbellsville area as a primary physician for more than 40 years, including volunteering his time as Campbellsville university’s team physician. Dr. Brooks has been an instrumental partner in Campbellsville University Sports Medicine and played an active role in helping start football at then Campbellsville College. He has been active in his life-long passion of sports and sports medicine at both the local and state level. In 2003, Dr. Brooks provided a generous gift to build CU’s athletic training room.
           
Raised in Todd County, Kentucky, Dr. Brooks graduated from Todd County Central High School, Murray State University, and the University of Louisville School of Medicine. In addition to his formal education Dr. Brooks has attended numerous post-graduate courses and seminars related to various areas of medical practice.
           
Dr. Brooks established his private practice of Family Medicine in Taylor County in 1974. Currently, he is an active medical staff member for Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, Kentucky and an affiliate medical staff member for Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Dr. Brooks is involved with multiple professional organizations including the American Medical Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, the Kentucky Medical Associations, the Southern Medical Association, as well as being a current member and past president of both the Taylor County Medical Society and the Taylor County Medical Staff.
           
He served as a Lt. Colonel in the United States Reserve Army Medical Corps and was called up to active duty during Operation Desert Storm in the fall of 1990. During his time in uniform, Dr. Brooks was decorated with Army Achievement Medical and the Army Commendation Medal, the highest non-combat award given by the Army.
           
Dr. Brooks is married to Lillian Ann Beard Brooks and has two daughters and six grandchildren.
