Dr. Richard Sanders graduated from Campbellsville Junior College in 1930
He completed the course work for two years of high school and two years of college in three years.
Sanders played football at the College in 1927, 1928, and 1929.
He graduated from Centre College in 1933 and from the Dental School of the University of Louisville in 1936.
He served in the Dental Corps of the U.S. Air Force from 1942 until 1946
He practiced dentistry in Taylor County until retiring 25 years ago
Since then Sanders has farmed and been interested in commercial real estate and banking
Sanders was married to the late Winnie Sinclair, a graduate of Campbellsville Junior College
He has one son, Richard A. Sanders III, and three grandchildren
