Ronnie Hord graduated from Campbellsville College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education and Biology. He attended Western Kentucky University where he graduated in 1969 with a Master’s Degree in Health Education.
 
In 1964, Coach George Sadler offered Hord a full scholarship to play basketball and baseball for the college. Hord played basketball at CU from 1964 to 1966 and was co-captain his senior year.
 
Hord has also been successful in his career fields. First teaching school and coaching, and then in 1969, he and Wayne Wells established H&W Sport Shop in Campbellsville. In 1974, Hord became the sole owner of H&W Sport Ship. H&W was voted Retail Business of the Year in 2007, and in 2009 H&W celebrated its 40th anniversary becoming one of the largest team dealers in Commonwealth of Kentucky.
 
In 1985, Hord and Son Bishop started an athletic booster club for Campbellsville College. Hord became the first Campbellsville College Booster Club President. Under the leadership, the booster club was instrumental in starting a football program and today continues supporting all athletic teams.
 
In 2005, CU named a building in his honor when Athletic Annex became the H&W Sport Shop Ronnie Hord Fieldhouse.
 
Hord is married to Laura Hord and has three children, two stepchildren, and seven grandchildren. The Hords are members of Woodlawn Christian Church, and they enjoy spending time with family and traveling.
 
Hord is past president of Campbellsville-Taylor County Chamber of Commerce and the Campbellsville Community Club.
 
Hord has exemplified tremendous dedication to Campbellsville University throughout the years as well as to the community of Campbellsville. His attributions to the institution continue to build his legacy.
